Web browser

A Web browser is a computer application that can interpret various protocols or standard languages for the user. For instance, a Web browser understands the HTML formatting commands for an Web page and shows the formatted document to users. Sometimes these applications are called "browsers" for short.
One of the earliest Web browsers was Netscape. As of 2006, Microsoft's Internet Explorer is probably the most commonly used browser.
